The Grassland Executives Retreat, more commonly known as Camp Ellison, is a country retreat for the President of the USQ and his Cupboard of advisers that is used on some weekends, as well as for numerous conferences and special events over the years. The camp, which owned by the United States of Quentin federal government, as well as operated by the Quentinian Starkkae Corps, is located in the suburbs of Woodhill, GA. Camp Ellison was first created after President Adithan Kumar used leftover funds from the Renovations of 777 Cupboard Place in 1925 to buy and renovate the area, which had been up to that time Camp Biggap, a camp for kids. After being used extensively by President Kumar, bringing criticism at the lack of his use of the official residence, 777 Cupboard Place, it was used less and less until President David Wagner in 1975 declared it an official residence of the President, establishing a tradition of using it every other weekend, as well as for special events.

Today the retreat includes two main buildings, the Ellison Building and the Aldersgate Building, the former being used for less official matters, and the latter being used for official conferences, greetings, and visits, although both buildings have a rural atmosphere. The Camp also sports a recreational building, as well as a spacious outdoor area with a pond, large field, and a swimming pool by the Aldersgate Building. The camp is not open to the public, and security on the grounds is as vigilant as it is in Mechanicsburg.

History

Kumar Administration

The retreat was first created in 1926, by President of the USQ Adithan Kumar. 4 years prior, President Jackson Shield had acquired funds from the treasury to renovate 777 Cupboard Place, the main residence of the President in Mechanicsburg, GA. While the renovations were taking place, President Shield and his successor, Hayden Dehoff, stayed in their home state of the Chip Area. However the President after that, who was President Kumar, stayed at Camp Biggap, a children's camp in the GA that had been taken over by military operations when the Greater Venturian War started to heat up. President Kumar got used to the retreat, and quite like the rural atmosphere. After the renovations were done, Kumar used leftover funds from the renovations at Cupboard Place to renovate Camp Biggap, and made it an official Presidential residence in 1937.

Decline and Wagner Administration

After the Presidency of Adithan Kumar, successors would not use the retreat, renamed Camp Ellison by Congress in 1942, as President Kumar had received much backlash for his constant residence there, instead of the traditional building at 777 Cupboard Place in the capital city. Jamie Petruzelli used it the most in those near 30 years, however not much, as Camp Ellison slowly but surely was taken over by the Starkkae Corps, which had been given control and operation of the building in 1956.

Things all changed, however, in 1970 when President David Wagner was elected. President Wagner was inaugurated January 1st, and went to Cupboard Place, as was the tradition. However after spending 7 hours there, he embarked on a late night flight, staying at Camp David from Friday until Sunday afternoon. A shock to the nation, and when reporters asked, President Wagner announced he would use the Camp every other weekend. So a tradition was established of the President and their Cupboard visiting the retreat every other weekend. President Wagner named the two buildings at the Camp as well, one after the family that helps operate the Camp, the Ellison Family, and the other after a church he attended in his youth.

Presidents after Wagner have used Camp Ellison nearly as much, with some choosing to stay once per month instead of every other weekend, but the tradition has continued, as well as the tradition of the Ellison's running the camp, mainly by Janice Ellison and David Ellison.
