The Chip Area (abbreviated CA) is a state in the United States of Quentin, located in the southwestern region of the nation. The CA is bordered by the Multi-Logan State to the west, the Kumar Area briefly to the northwest, the Desert Area to the north, and the Kahoot Area and Tantallegara to the east. Of all the states, the CA borders the most other states. In addition, the Brightwater Gulf is located to the southeast of the state, and the Sea of Stratigeo to the southwest. The state is home to Rodriguezville, the state's capital and nation's second-largest city, as well as the Mellion River. The Chip Area has the highest population of any of the Quentinian states, as well as the second-highest GDP. The state is also renowned for its many controversial and unique laws on drugs, gun control, gangs, and entertainment among other things, and the Mukdukk and JP Mellio gangs operate mainly in the state.
In terms of area, the state is third after the Grassland Area and Desert Area, with approximately 987,564 square kilometers in area. Its population is around 255 million as of 2020, larger than some Venturian countries, and its GDP sits at $5.11 trillion. The Chip Area is mainly rural in the north, however down towards the west and southern areas of the state, the land is mostly urban. The largest cities in the state include Rodriguezville (22,849,117 people), Poleton (7,126,355) and Port Jaron (2,945,618). In addition, the state is organized into 19 state districts, the largest of which by population and area is the Inner Chapital District at 35 million people.
The Chip Area was first settled and recognized as a part of Punctinaturalland, a state which used to exist in the southwestern area of what is today the USQ. After the formation of the USQ in 1834, the nation came into conflict with Punctinaturalland twice, first in the Early Punctin War and then again in the Final Punctin Wars. In the Early Punctin War, the CA fought as a part of Punctinaturalland against the USQ, and was not one of the territories ceded to the USQ as a part of the Southern Maxx-Von Zig Deal. However, after the Final Punctin Wars, the CA declared itself independent, and after the Punctinaturalland Civil War, petitioned the USQ for annexation. Finally, in 1872 the CA became a state of the USQ, and soon after the entirety of Punctinaturalland was absorbed by the USQ.
The state's constitution, the Chip Area Constitution, lays out the government and duties of the state to the country as a whole, and other state laws govern its operation. The legislature of the state is the Chip Area State Legislature, which works alongside the Chip Area Economic and Welfare Council to create laws and legislation. The Governor of the Chip Area is the main executive, and the Supreme Civil Court along with the Supreme Criminal Court command the judicial branch of the state. Many of the CA's laws and governmental operations differ from many other states in the union, something which has caused friction at times between the CA and other states.

History
Geography and Climate
The Chip Area overall is one of the warmer states in the USQ, being closer to the equator. The state borders the most other states of any other state in the country, with the Multi-Logan State to the west, Kumar Area to the northwest, Desert Area to the north, and Kahoot Area and Tantallegara to the east. In addition, the Mellion River is located almost entirely in the western CA, and the Sea of Stratigeo as well as the Brightwater Gulf borders the state to its southwest and southeast respectively. The physical landscape of the state differs drastically, mostly in regards to the north and south parts of the state. The northern areas are extremely rocky and hilly, and areas near Aldersgate, Ellisontown, and the Roughland Mountains are the highest in elevation. There is a small plain on the central northern border with the Desert Area, however. To the south and in the west near areas such as Poleton, the land is much flatter, and this area stretches across the state to Belljexk in the east. Generally, the flat land begins near Poleton, and everywhere south of Poleton is much flatter than that which is north of the city.
In addition, the state has a medium level of forest cover, with large amounts being in the central part of the state, in the Inner Chapital District, as well as to the east. Elsewhere, forest cover is sparse, especially to the south near Port Jaron. In terms of climate, the state is much warmer than many others, and generally has the highest temperatures in the country. The northern part of the state has a mild temperature, except for when the elevation affects the temperature, and this northern area sees cold winters, and mild springs, falls, and summers. To the south of the state, it gets warmer and warmer, especially near the southwestern coast, around cities such as Von Ville and Mellion. These cities are considered important vacation locations for their perfect summer temperatures, while cities such as Port Jaron and Belljexk are generally hotter. Precipitation is even across the state, with a mild amount of rainfall and sometimes snowfall, although the northern part of the state sees much less precipitation than the rest of the state, due to its proximity to the Desert Area tundra.

Cities
With the Chip Area's population being the largest in the country, and the southern half of the state being mainly urban, the state has numerous major cities. The largest of these is the state's capital, Rodriguezville, which is also the largest city and second-largest city in the entire nation. The state has three cities over 1 million people, and two in the top ten of the nation. Most major cities have their own governments, however these do not play as large a role in local government than in other countries. Rather, these city governments serve only the city, and small needs. Below is a list of the twenty largest cities in the Chip Area by population.

Demographics
Currently, the Chip Area has a population of 255 million people. Compared to other states in the USQ, the CA is less diverse in ethnicity and language, although in terms of religion the state is more diverse.
Ethnicity
The four main ethnicities prevalent in the CA are those which are prevalent in the country as a whole, those being the Aspkausians, Gadoupes, Jumanges, and Zwakanavs. The CA is the only state in the USQ besides Tantallegara to have a majority Jumange population, with 55% being Jumange. The rest of the state consists of a population of Aspkausians at 29%, Gadoupes at 12%, and Zwakanavs at 4%. The CA has one of the smaller populations of immigrant descendants in the country, as the majority of the citizens in the CA trace their ancestry to the days of Punctinaturalland. The CA does have some of immigrant descent however, more than states such as the Grassland Area, though not nearly as many as states like the Kumar Area or Tantallegara. These citizens which do have immigrant ancestors are mainly concentrated near Port Jaron and other southern coastal regions. Most of immigrant descent trace their ancestry to either the Atillaraon Islands or Paladinia. As in most other places in the USQ, interracial marriages are common, and around 11.9% of people describe themselves as biracial in the state.
Language
Language in the Chip Area mostly resembles that of the country as a whole, although due to its ties with the now extinct country of Punctinaturalland, the CA has a much higher percentage of Pexsakxj speakers than elsewhere. English and Farmine are by far the most common, however, with English and Farmine speakers making up 59% of the population, with people who only speak English being at 10%, and those who only speak Farmine being at 20%. Pexsakxj follows the two main languages with an approximate 2.87% of the population, and New Zwakazian and Allian follow those with 2% each. The rest is other languages. The official languages of the Chip Area include English and Farmine, which are the official languages in most of the country, as well as Pexsakxj, which is the official language in only the CA and Tantallegara.
Religion
Religion in the CA is not very diverse, as in many other places in the nation, however religion in the state is unique for the fact that a larger percentage of individuals are nonreligious in the state than elsewhere. Nearly 59% of all people in the state follow some form of Christianity, and of these almost 92% follow Quentinian Christianity. These include followers of the New Age Prophecies Church, who make up nearly 60% of all Quentinian Christians, the United Messiah Church at 28%, the Liberal United Messiah Church at 8%, along with numerous others. The remaining Christians in the state follow Allian Christianity.
Besides Christianity, the state has one of the largest populations of Reformed Hatvists in the country, with 13% of the population following Reformed Hatvism. Additionally, Skethianity is practiced by 10%, and the rest are of other or no religion. 13% of the population considers themselves nonreligious, a statistic exponentially larger than that of any other state. Additionally, a recent survey in the state found that, of those who considered themselves religious, 24% considered themselves "casually religious," following their respective religion however not basing their life upon it.
