777 Cupboard Place, also known as Executives Place, is the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States of Quentin along with their Cupboard. Built in 1872, 777 Cupboard Place has been the home of every administration since that of Olivia Ehresman, for whom the residence was built. Steve Incluse of Incluse Industries designed the residence in 1870, and today it stands relatively unchanged, except for the 1925 Cupboard Place Renovations, which added numerous paths, structural additions, and other entertainment, political, and functionality rooms.

The Cupboard of the President resides at 777 Cupboard Place as well, however often work from the headquarters of their respective executive departments, including the Chip Rodriguez Executive Building, among others. Usually, however, these buildings are all located close to 777 Cupboard, or at least in the vicinity in Mechanicsburg. 777 Cupboard Place is located close to numerous other buildings in the capital, including the Capitol Building, home to Congress. In the 1970's, the Grassland Executives Retreat became increasingly used by President David Wagner for retreats and time away from the capital every other weekend, and became an official residence of the President along with Cupboard Place in 1975. Use of the retreat has declined with more recent Presidents, however, and 777 Cupboard Place is where the President does most of their work and is able to run the government and executive branch.

Today, 777 Cupboard Place consists of 3 floors, including the Ground Floor, State Floor, and Residence Floor, along with a 3 floor basement. The Ground Floor includes numerous offices for staff and members of the Cupboard, along with the grand dining room, and the floor leads out onto the south portico as well. This portico leads to the grounds of Cupboard Place, including outdoor offices, spaces for leisure, and numerous decorative structures. Another feature of the Ground Floor if the official Announcement Room, the media area and space for executive announcements and press conferences. The second floor, the State Floor, is where most business of the President is done, and it includes the Green Room, the President's office, along with the Yellow Room for meetings with the Cupboard. The Brown Room is also on this floor, an area for the President and others to greet foreign guests and dignitaries, and have meetings with them. The Residence Floor is where the President and some of the Cupboard lives, and it includes private kitchens and areas for the President and Cupboard's families to reside. Currently upkeep of the house is managed by the Department of Monuments.

History

Prior Residences

Before the use of 777 Cupboard Place by President Ehresman, the United States of Quentin did not have an official residence for the President. Many sites were used before Cupboard Place, however most of them were in Mechanicsburg. For a time, President George Firedawn resided in the Capitol Building, and also stayed at a personal residence. President Sam Logan rejected staying at the Capitol, due to increasing tensions with Congress, and chose to reside at what is today the Jefferson Diversiton Building, which was built one year before his term. Finally, both Franklin Moise and Jonathan Redall actually resided most of the time at Quentinian Diplomatic House, the residence of GTNEC Max Wagner, as executive cooperation was necessary and Wagner was seen as an experienced politician and statesman. Although these places were all used during the time before Olivia Ehresman, none was ever made official, and even when a President spent most of their time at a location, it was regular for them to move around.

Floor Layout

There are currently six floors at 777 Cupboard Place, three of them being above ground and three below ground. The three above ground floors are named the Ground Floor, State Floor, and Residence Floor, however the basement floors do not have names.

Ground Floor

The Ground Floor of 777 Cupboard Place is a mixed business and residence floor, as the Ground Floor has offices for most of the Cupboard staff, however is also home to the Announcement Room and the grand dining room of Cupboard Place. When entering the residence, immediately a lobby area is met, after the security is passed through, and numerous chairs and amenities like televisions are available in this entrance room. To the right is the dining room of 777 Cupboard Place, which has a modern design and features numerous tables for guests and official dinners of the executive. This is adjoined by a large kitchen, which serves this dining room and the one on the third floor. Opposite the dining room on the left, past the lobby, is the Announcement Room, which includes a small stage and areas for press and media to ask questions. This is the most accessible area of the residence, as television and media personnel enter directly into the announcement room for interviews and pictures. The room is painted a white color, and is of a medium size.

Past these two more public rooms are many offices, which are home to operations of most secretaries of the Cupboard. These offices serve as secondary offices to most secretaries, as they spend much time at the headquarters of their respective departments, however they serve the officials while at home, and allow business to be done around the clock, with officials still being close to their families. The secretaries who have offices on this floor include Health, Technology, Professions and Labor, Infrastructure, and State. Each office is structurally equipped with the needs of the occupant, meaning each office has direct messaging lines to their respective headquarters, other messaging lines to authorities, and special amenities like maps for state, or databases of new technologies for technology. The Ground Floor also includes an exit to the patio area and grounds, along with numerous amenities. Finally, the White Wing is also included on the ground floor, and this wing houses executive vehicles as well as power and water provisions. The White Wing leads down to the basements, as well.

State Floor

The State Floor is where the business of the executive branch is mostly done, as it houses offices, rooms for business, and meeting spaces. The first of these rooms is the Green Room, which is the main office of the President. This room, so named for one of the colors of the Quentinian flag, includes the President's desk and a space for them to work. The room is secluded from the rest of the floor, as it takes up the entire width of the left side of the floor, and is on the opposite side of the floor from the staircase, facing the road outside of the residence. Near the staircase are the offices of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Secretary of Defense, and in between those offices on the right side of the floor is the Yellow Room, which is the official meeting room of the Cupboard. In the Yellow Room, there is a meeting table, with chairs for each of the secretaries, where they can converse about the government and communicate. This yellow room borders the Green Room.

Opposite of the Yellow Room, facing the front of the building includes the Brown Room, which is the official meeting room of the President and of the executive branch. Many people have met in this room before, from Quentinian politicians, leaders, and citizens to foreign dignitaries and representatives. The Brown Room has a sitting area for discussion, as well as a meeting table. Visiting foreign dignitaries also have an adjoining suite to stay over if they need. Also on this floor is a kitchen, amenities, and offices for the Executive Secretary of Press and the 777 Cupboard Place Chief of Staff.

Residence Floor

The residence floor is the third floor of Cupboard Place, and is made up of rooms for the President and his family, and six of the twelve members of the Cupboard and their families. The floor also includes a less formal dining room, kitchens, and amenities. The largest room on the floor is a living room area, with entertainment and sitting areas for the families to relax and interact with each other.

Basement I

The basement floors are accessible via entrances in the White Wing, three entrances on the grounds, and an entrance in the Executive Announcement Room. The first basement floor, that is the one closest to the surface, houses the residences of the latter six families of the Cupboard, which were added to the first basement floor as new secretaries were added, and no space was available on the residence floor. The first basement was the only one built with the house itself in 1872, as the other two basements were added with the 1925 Cupboard Place Renovations and by the request of the President, Blaze Peters, in 2001. This first basement floor has numerous rooms for the latter six secretaries and their families, and also includes sitting spaces, kitchens, and a dining area for the families. Two other features of the floor are the pool and the gym, which are opposite the family's rooms. The pool in particular has attracted a large amount of fame and attention, as guests from President-King Delaness I to the 1973 league champion Roofball team, the Mechanicsburg Businessmen, have used the pool frequently. A final feature of the first basement floor is that it has windows which give light to the area, along with stairs which lead down to the second basement floor and a messaging system which can instantly contact anyone anywhere in the residence, so as to enable communication between leaders even while they relax.

Basement II

The second basement floor is mainly an entertainment space, for the family to enjoy themselves and for officials to relax. One of these entertainment features is the Cupboard Place Media Room, which is a movie theater space with a large screen and lots of available media including movies, television, video games, and radio. The media room has one large screen, and 6 other smaller screens, for use by the family of the President and Cupboard or by officials themselves. Often President David Wagner would frequent the room to watch the nation's news, which he would project on all seven screens. Another feature of the space is the library located on this floor, established by President Jamie Petruzelli. The library, officially called the Presidential Residence's Library Collection, is a space filled with bookcases and books on many topics. In 2019, the library had a material count of 1,900 books, collected by all the Presidents and Cupboard members since the Petruzelli administration. A tradition has arose from the library as well, where a prior President will leave a typed page of advice for the next President in the library, which will then be read and inserted into a binder by the successor President. This binder currently has four pages in it, holding advice from Presidents Petruzelli through Veer Shah, and will be expanded each time a new President is elected.

The second basement is also home to two guest rooms, the only two guest rooms other than the dignitary's room adjoining the Brown Room on the State Floor. These two rooms are less honorary than the State Room one, however allied dignitaries such as Prime Minister George Wallis Jr. or Speaker of the People Jorge Clipp have stayed in the rooms when meeting for ATADO or other purposes. Finally, the room has messaging, like on all floors, to anywhere in the executive branch, and has stairs either leading downstairs, upstairs, or directly to the ground floor. The downstairs stairs from the second basement are heavily restricted, due to the nature of the third floor.

Basement III

The third basement floor, unlike the other two basements, is organized for the purpose of business and national affairs only. The third basement is made up of a command center for emergencies, known as the CIC Executive Command Center, with CIC standing for "country in crisis." The area is meant to be a bunker for the President and other executives in the case of disaster, emergency, or attack. The center is guarded constantly, and is equipped with the capability to launch a nuclear strike, as well as communicate directly with many officials, including executives, military, foreign, and legislative. The CICECC effectively communicates with features like the Presidential Governors Hotline, the ATADO Leader Command Hotline, and many other communications channels, to allow the President and other executives to take action during emergencies. The center is well-equipped, and can sustain itself for many months.

Besides the executive bunker, most of the third basement floor is highly classified, and has come under the scrutiny of various conspiracy theorists for its secrecy. Numerous interviews with past officials and the analysis of experts, however, indicates that the rest of the space is used for storage, separate areas of functionality for officials during crisis, as well as resident offices of members of the military or members of staff.

Staff

There are hundreds of staff at 777 Cupboard Place, many being cooks, guards, secretaries, or functionality workers. The plumbing, electricity, and heating of the house are all taken care of by the staff. Also, the chefs of Cupboard Place stock the kitchens of the residence daily, and cook for large events in the Grand dining room and elsewhere.

Grounds

Surrounding Area

The surrounding area of 777 Cupboard Place includes numerous paths, which are accessible only for residents to walk. The gates around the residence protect the paths from the public, and another building sits on the paths inside the fence, which serves as the access point to the house. Outside the fence is a large green space with trees, called Florham Executive Park, and the street Cupboard Place passes through this park, with the executive residence on one side, and executive offices on the other, as well as all down the street. The residence is not located in downtown Mechanicsburg, and is located on the outskirts with many other government buildings, such as the United States of Quentin Capitol Building housing Congress, and the Sam Logan Memorial. These two buildings sit diagonal from Cupboard Place, including Mechanicsburg Capitol Square, and compared to the square Cupboard Place looks extremely off center, as it was built later than the other two main federal buildings. It is, however, in line with the Sam Logan Memorial near the riverbank.

777 Cupboard Place and its grounds play host to many major events, including meetings with foreign dignitaries and hosting foreign organizations for meetings. Other Quentinian politicians also visit Cupboard Place, however the largest events are usually events held for medal ceremonies, or for sports champions. Medal ceremonies include the giving of military medals to high ranking personnel, or the inauguration of high ranking military personnel such as the Supreme Commander or branch chiefs, at which ceremonies medals are given to the new officials. Other medal ceremonies include Presidential Achievement Award presentations and presentations of the Executive Award for Valor.

Besides medal ceremonies, sports champion events are held at Cupboard Place, traditionally for Sidus Dei Ludos teams which have won the overall medal count at the international event, and for the champions of the United Vehementiaball League, Quentinian Roofball Organization, and Oceanic Body Sports Association, although for OBS the ceremony is generally smaller. These ceremonies are held for the winners of these leagues, and the President congratulates the teams and presents them with gifts.
