The Sovereignty of Drumes, also simply referred to as Drumes, is a Hatvist emperorship nation located in western Asper, bordering Vidgmar to the north, the Protectorates of Allia to the east, and the Nyoka Ocean to the west. The nation, with an area of 502,643km2, is one of only two Hatvist emperorships on Venturia, a nation operating partially under the authority of the Hatvist Nation and adhering to Hatvist principles and judicial traditions. Additionally, benefits are given to Hatvist citizens and authorities are expected to be Hatvist. The nation's capital is Bladannis, and other large cities include Emprinas, Josephsburg, and Mostahions.
What is now the Sovereignty of Drumes was first inhabited by native tribes throughout the B.C. era, until around 600 B.C. when the nation, along with present-day Vidgmar, was consolidated into the Triland Country by Queen Charlotte Terran. After nearly 300 years, the Trilands were conquered by the Allian Empire in 301 B.C, one of the first foreign lands to be conquered by the empire. The empire was dissolved in 1500, and due to cultural differences the Trilands opted to not join the growing Confederacy for a Provisional Allia, instead becoming a monarchy once again in 1502, under the Triland Country title.
From the 1500's to 1700's the Trilands were involved in much of mainstream Asperian conflicts and politics, siding with the Hatvist United Lands of Southia on many issues and prospering to a degree. The industrial revolution was carried out in the 1800's, however the Trilands did not industrialize to the extent of nations such as Allia and the Megatridimensional Order. The nation's name was changed to the Sovereignty of Drumes in the late 1800's, and under the dictatorial rule of Supreme Leader Kim Kahgn, the sovereignty sought to rapidly expand as a member of the Righteousness Pact in the Great Venturian War. After winning, the country remained neutral in the Greater Venturian War, however this neutrality caused a split with the northern half of the nation. The Trilands Revolutions began during the Greater Venturian War, and were resolved by the Treaty of Fort McCarthy in 1936 and the New Drumesan Government Charter of 1937, establishing Vidgmar as an independent nation.
Today, the Sovereignty of Drumes is still split from Vidgmar, however the two nations have a much more cordial relationship than that of the 1930's. The national government of Drumes is composed of the Drumesese Concilium, a body of representatives elected by the people and those selected by the Hatvist Nation who act as the nation's legislature. Emperor Peter Rainsannas rules over the legislature and the executive, having powers in each, however smaller powers are given to Concilium officials and to the President, allowing for a balance of power to some degree. The nation as a whole is considered a lower-level developed country, with a small population but mid-level standards of living. The nation is a member of the Venturian Union, General Economic Cooperation Organization, and the Sidus Dei Ludos, and is also only one of two nations to recognize Trinese as its official language, the other being Vidgmar.
