Chronicles of Noir is a 2020 Quentinian superhero film directed and created by Carter A. Barkley, as a part of the new series of superhero films produced by QUACK! Studios. Based on the QUACK! Comics character Noir, the film ties in with other recent QUACK! superhero movies including Humakavula: Dark Shadows and Good Hope: Starlight, and sets up the upcoming 2021 film Knights of Life. The film is the first to be created based on Noir, and stars Pascal Clinton, supported by Tina Lachraberts, Jacoby Friarmuth, Jim Caustine, and Rodney Bagley. In the film, the titular hero Noir (Clinton) attempts to fight crime in the Chip Area after the tragic murder of his parents. With the help of his love interest, Selena Harvey (Lachraberts) and law enforcement agent Josh Wright (Caustine), Noir attempts to take down gangs in the cities, however is undermined by the insane criminal Slapjack (Friarmuth) and a host of other criminals.

The film was first announced by QUACK! in 2018, after the success of Good Hope: Starlight, which was the first comic movie to have major success in the USQ. Carter A. Barkley, who directed Good Hope, was announced as the director and creator of the new Chronicles of Noir film. Barkley has stated that creating the movie was a difficult task, as the film needed to set up future films as well as incorporate tales from Noir which could stand on their own. Barkley also had nearly a century of content from comics to include, and "choosing which bits to include... was a challenge." The name for the film came as a result of the unique feel of the film, which moves from the character's origin to his life fighting crime, to his involvement with Clint Wright (son of Josh Wright) and the ICEC and Knights of Life team. The movie is stretched out over nearly 70 years, as it covers the hero's origins in 1906 to his life fighting crime in the 1920's, to his greater involvement with other heroes in the 1970's. Critics have praised the film's ability to have a structured feel throughout, despite its lengthy timeline. Additionally, the film is told in a roundabout fashion, meaning that the film ends with Noir telling Clint Wright his story, the same story covered by the first half of the movie.

The film has received critical acclaim, and is widely considered the best of the QUACK! Studios superhero movies thus far. Praise was received for the film's cast, including Pascal Clinton as Noir, and Jacoby Friarmuth as Slapjack. Additionally, its unique structure received acclaim, and though some critics have stated that the film could have been better presented, the vast majority of critics agree that the task of covering 70 years of history in one film was handled well. Other critics noted that the film's lack of large action scenes was true to the narrative and story of Noir, in contrast to Good Hope which had numerous major action scenes. At the box office, Chronicles of Noir had a lackluster opening week, however in its opening weekend it broke numerous box office records, and in the weeks following the film continued strong. Many suggestions for why the film flopped its opening week include the fact that it was released after National Political Week, however the unexpectedly bad performance has still largely puzzled analysts and critics. It is currently the seventh highest-grossing Quentinian film, and ranks behind both Humakavula and Good Hope, despite a large number of critics saying it is the best of the three so far.
