Christianity is a religion that was founded in 1 A.D. by Elijah Edwards. Based off of the belief that there is only one God, it is also based off of Jesus Christ being the son of God, and that he lived on Venturia. His teachings are also followed today by Christians, which are based off love, kindness, and obedience to God. Christianity is the largest religion in the world, with over 1.7 billion followers. Christians have a sacred book, known as The Bible, and believe it is God's word. Christianity is prevalent in every country in the world, but it has followers mainly in The United States of Quentin, the Republic of Megatridimensional Order, The Protectorates of Allia, Paladinia, New Dawn, and The Democratic-Republic of Lindsaya, as well as Carkhia and Ravensonia.

History

While founded in 1 A.D. officially, Christianity really started in 36 B.C. That is when Jesus Christ was born in The Allian Empire. As a young child, Jesus is said to have possessed great knowledge and maturity, and was able to settle disputes with people, and was always kind. At 20 years old, Jesus gathered followers, known as Disciples to follow him and assist him in his work. He traveled about the Allian Empire, teaching radical new beliefs from the widely popular Skethianity and Hatvism at that time. He taught kindness and love, even when wronged, and taught that there was only one God. He taught that that God was loving, and cared for all humans on Venturia. At the age of 34, Jesus had gathered thousands, even millions of followers in the empire, and the pro-Skethianity leadership of the country wouldn't have it. So, at age 35 Jesus was arrested by Allia for "disturbing the peace and presenting falsehoods against the all righteous Skethish religion." During trial, many groups tried to free their messiah, but Jesus refused to leave. He said, "God has a plan. Of salvation, of peace on Venturia, and I will gladly play my role in his righteous plan." That plan, the Bible teaches, was for Jesus to die, paying the ultimate sacrifice so the sinful people of Venturia never would. It happened just as he said, and on April 3rd, 0 A.D., he died, killed on a cross by Allian soldiers.

After Jesus' death, many of his disciples and Allian soldiers and citizens around his tomb and in the city nearly 3 days later witnessed him resurrected, and according to these witnesses Jesus appeared to them for nearly 40 days after that, until he told them he was going to heaven to be with God, but to carry on his message. His disciples did just that, led by Elijah Edwards, and created Christianity, saying all its followers were one with Christ. The Allian Empire quickly started filling up with Christians, and their teachings carried on even after their deaths, with Timothy Stevens founding the first church in 60 A.D. After that point, Christianity started to dominate the empire, and by 150 A.D., it had surpassed Skethianity as the foremost religion in the empire. From 150 until 1100, it was spread by the empire to faraway lands, such as present day West Asper, USQ, and down to Docneighland and beyond. In 1100 when the Allian empire collapsed, the individual countries still used Christianity as their main religion. However, in 1400, Hatvism spread, and some western countries started to convert to that religion. The Belief Clash from the late 1300's to the early 1400's was a representation of that. Still, though, Christianity kept on, and with the rising of the USQ in the 1900s as a major power, with Christianity at the forefront of their culture, it has never been stronger.

Modern Day Christianity

Modern day Christianity is very influential in the world, however not so much as it was in the early A.D.s. There are actually 2 denominations of Christianity nowadays, Quentinian Christianity and Allian Christianity. Quentinian Christianity differs from the original Christianity, now Allian Christianity, because it believes that you can worship to God in any way, and have a more personal, informal relationship with him, while Allian Christianity believes in the values of rituals, ceremonies, and large showings of the religion to worship God. Churches are where Christians worship, usually fairly large buildings with a main area called a Sanctuary. A preacher usually teaches a lesson, and educates the gathered about the teachings of the religion, and how you must apply them. A large part of Quentinian Christianity is music, praising God, and the focusing on applying Jesus' teachings in the modern world, however the Allian Church does not do music or the modern day teachings, but instead focuses on the literal words of the Bible, and the basic philosophies of Jesus' teachings.
