The 2020 Oceanic Body Sports Association season was the 39th season of the Oceanic Body Sports Association (OBS). The season consisted of nine regular season divisional matches for each of the 15 divisions. These divisions consist of 4 divisions from the Ravensonian OBS Conference and 11 from the Quentinian OBS Conference. The regular season took place from May 20th to July 26th, 2020. At the end of the regular season, the top three players from each division, plus two winners per conference from the OBS Last Chance Qualifier which took place August 1st, entered the playoff tournaments. These playoffs then took place from August 8th to August 11th and August 15th to August 18th for the Ravensonian and Quentinian conferences respectively.

After the playoffs, the 2020 Ravensonian OBS National Championship took place Saturday, August 29th, followed by the 2020 Quentinian OBS National Championship on September 5th. The winner of the Ravensonian Championship, Tito Crisp, and the winner of the Quentinian Championship, Willie Boorse, then competed on September 12th, 2020 for the 2020 OBS Coastal Championship, which was won by Willie Boorse.

Notable Retirements and Injuries

Retirements

  • Former OBS Coastal Champion Randall Christian retires, after not being an elite for nearly 4 years.

Major Injuries

  • Jordan Mackie is injured in late June, pulling a hamstring muscle. The injury set Mackie back two weeks, during which he could not compete.
  • Mya Brengaleiu is injured with a concussion the week of the Last Chance Qualifier. Brengaleiu came back for the playoffs the next week, however not at full strength, most likely contributing to her elimination in the first round.

Stadium Changes

  • It was announced that Farquan Bank Arena in Oriente, OBA would not be used for the last chance qualifier, being replaced by a coastal match outside of an arena, taking place on the Diamond Area coast.
  • Flaming Shore Arena was renovated in September. The massive renovations will add 5,000 more seats, as well as much needed repairs to the arena. Flaming Shore is the only arena equipped for obs in the central Grassland Area.
