The K-AXE Legend (stylized K-AXE LEGEND) is a sixth generation home video game console developed by the Quentinian software and electronics company, Kumar Industries. Announced as the successor to the previous K-AXE, the K-AXE Celeritas, in 2015, the console was launched first in the United States of Quentin on December 10th, and then around the world early in 2016. The K-AXE Legend's main competition includes the Megatridimensional consoles RageStation 5 and Reaper 6700, along with the Quandex 42, although the competition with Quandex is to a lesser extent.

The new features of the K-AXE legend compared to other generations of consoles were few. This was mainly because of the repeated upgrades the K-AXE Celeritas received throughout its lifespan, however the Legend still improved when compared to the newest versions of the Celeritas. The system's hard drive was more efficient, with its software also being upgraded. The system's controller was reconfigured, as Kumar Industries introduced a bulkier but better configured controller for the Legend. The controller's new features included a built in microphone system, a physical sensory simulator (PSS) which simulates the feeling of in-game actions, as well as a button to immediately upload gameplay to the Megaconn. Some of these features were added to later models of the Celeritas, such as the 3.7 to 3.9, however many were entirely revamped for the Legend. The console supports the highest levels of video available, and the raytracing introduced by its 2.0 version, which was introduced in August of 2018, have received widespread acclaim.

Overall, the launch of the K-AXE Legend was praised by many fans, especially those in the United States of Quentin. Many critics commented positively on the system's video and high resolution, while also praising the accessibility of its share, remote play, friends, and other social options. Its software and hardware developments, however, were far overshadowed by the release of the RageStation 5, and to a lesser extent the Reaper 6700, as each system brought much faster gameplay to the table. Nonetheless, the console sold very well, especially in the USQ, Allia, Docneighland, and Nista Federation, all very large gaming markets. Currently, the K-AXE Legend sits at number four on the best-selling game consoles list, behind the RageStation 4, the K-AXE Celeritas, and the RageStation 5.

The K-AXE Legend supports hundreds of games, and all are distributed at retailers either by M-Trace Disc or by digital access codes. These digital access codes allow players to download a game from the K-AXE Digital Store, which can install games directly to a player's system. It is not required to have a digital code from a retailer to download a game from the Digital Store, as players have the option to purchase games with a credit card or other digital payment, and download the game directly. Those who bought the K-AXE Legend also received a free copy of either Creed: Highwire or Leidigh Roofball 16, depending on their choice.

Backward Compatibility

Backward compatibility was introduced by the RageStation 5 in 2012, and allows a gaming console to play games from previous editions of the console, meaning with the RageStation 5, all games from the RageStation 4, RageStation 3, RageStation 2, and original RageStation were available for download from the RageStation MegaStore, or to buy from retailers. K-AXE introduced backward compatibility itself with the K-AXE Legend's release, enabling players to play games from previous consoles on the Legend. This includes either downloading them from the Digital Store, buying them from retailers, or simply playing on a disc which had been bought with previous models.

Release

Later Versions

K-AXE has traditionally released improved versions of their consoles after the release of the first edition, which is titled 1.0. This is to both improve gameplay, as well as test new features which may appear on later consoles. The K-AXE Legend received two major version updates, along with one smaller one.

Legend 1.5

Legend 1.5 was released in November of 2017, and added numerous social features, such as higher streaming and sharing quality. It also added better software processing, special edition controllers, and enhanced charging for controllers.

Legend 1.7

The 1.7 was a minor fix to the console which came after the 1.5. It enhanced the capabilities of the Legend for LAN, which had been a complaint from some who did not have Wi-Fi, and added increased speed for the connection. It also enabled sharing and reactions when playing in virtual reality, as well as enhanced charging cables for controllers.

Legend 2.0

The Legend 2.0 was by far the largest update to the system, adding enhanced software processing speeds and raytracing, which had only been available on the RageStation 5 up until that time. Released in August of 2018, the 2.0 version was widely acclaimed, and critics noted that numerous games were enhanced in visual design. The 2.0 was the best-selling of the Legend upgrades, and one of the best-selling of all updated versions in K-AXE history. Additional features of the 2.0 include voice activated controls, and the addition of the music application Jedi-Balibo Music, which in prior versions had only been available through the Megaconn. With the 2.0, the application was built directly into the software of the system.
