As more and more colleges were being founded, these colleges began to compete in many different athletic activities, the first official ones being track and field events, wrestling, and fencing. These events soon expanded, and the Quentinian Quadrathameet was added in 1916, and the Quentinian University Association of Collegiate Athletes (QUACA) was founded, organizing the sports and setting rules on players and events.
The athletic teams for WFU are known as the Wagner and Firedawn Guardians, and their mascot is a guardian, equipped with a shield and other defensive items. The team's official colors are orange and red, along with white and black, and the WFU athletics program participates in the QUACA Grassland Conference and the Old Orange Division.
