Republic

A Republic is a system of government based off the idea that the government of a nation is a public matter, and that while the operations of the government should not be completely entrusted to the people, however they should have a say in government because it affects them. Generally in a republic the government has balance, with there being a legislature as well as a head of state, such as a Prime Minister or a President. A republic is the most used governmental structure in Venturia, with and an offshoot of the system, a Mild Republic, is used in an additional 4 countries.

History

Historians generally consider The Logasa Empire as the first ever republic, and the government system the empire used is still a benchmark and template for modern republics. While the empire did have a kind of monarch, called a Rivarron, it was much more similar to that of a President or Prime Minister, as the Rivarron would be voted out in a tradition taking place when the public gained dislike for the ruler. The removal would be a sort of celebration, called Logarunarron Day, and a new Rivarron would be replaced, with the old one retiring and being honored in The Rulundonges of Logasa.
