Laura Penswill was the mother of George Penswill, one of the founders of The United States of Quentin. Born in Telembria around 1759 to a rich family, Laura married her husband, Jameson Penswill, in 1781. While her husband worked in banking in the country, Laura focused on fashion, and her outfits, especially her accessories such as hats, jewelry, and shoes, were world renowned for creativity and beauty, setting trends across the entire Asper continent.

In 1788, when the citizens of the nation revolted against Telembria's government, and their strict, two party political structure, the Penswill family supported the revolutionaries, as well as funded them. When the new nation, the Republic of Megatridimensional Order, gained land west of Telembria, the Penswills moved there, Laura continuing to design fashion for the new country as well as maintain stores and designers in Telembria.

Laura died in 1810, at the age of 51 from a case of pneumonia, leaving her family's wealth, home, and legacy to her son.
