Brud is a term used in the Farmine language, primarily in the United States of Quentin and some parts of Ravensonia. The word originated in the 19th century USQ, during the nation's transition from English to Farmine, which had been newly created. Brud was a new slang term created, a combination of the English word, "brother" and the slang term, "bud." The word caught on quickly with the new Farmine-speaking population, and by the late 1800's the word had entered mainstream use, meaning an extremely close friend, so much so that they could be considered a brother or sister.
