Apocalypse Here

Apocalypse Here is a 1997 apocalypse film based around a futuristic war between the Megatridimensional Order and United States of Quentin. The movie follows the war, and shows both sides beginning to use chemical weapons and using weapons at the expense of the environment, damaging the world and increasing global warming. Apocalypse Here did relatively well at the box office, however its final scene and impact on the world has been recognized by many reviewers and politicians alike as monumental.
