The Port Logan Boiling Summer, officially known as the 2021 Port Logan Unrest and also known simply as the Boiling Summer, was a massive period of unrest in the city of Port Logan, Paladinia, which saw demonstrators from numerous factions collide with the authorities and each other. Major motivations for the demonstration included the recent Paladinian Democratic Revolution and the 2021 Paladinian National Elections, with factions demonstrating including ultra-democratic liberals, pro-independence, and globalist groups. The demonstrations lasted for all of July of 2021 and lasted into August, with the final demonstration occurring on August 21st. By August 4th, most protests were under control, however newly elected Prime Minister Patrick Wilson called for a political summit in the city to define problems and figure solutions. By August 16th, the summit concluded that greater autonomy was necessary for Port Logan than the rest of the country, with actions in the People's Legislature being put forth that same day.

The major factions in the Boiling Summer demonstrations had numerous different motivations and goals, causing massive and often confused unrest in the city. The largest group of demonstrators were part of a group called the ultra-democratic liberal group, which aimed for greater democracy and liberties than what the Paladinian National Charter provided for. These included many more civil liberties and rights, a more liberal courts system, universal healthcare, and government assistance programs. The group also aimed for a shift towards a Quentinian-style government. Pro-independence groups were the second of these groups, with many calling for Port Logan to be established as an independent city, and aiming for the city to become a new, liberal beacon to the world. They did not just want to reform the current government and remain in the country as the ultra-democratic liberals did, but felt that cultural and political differences were far too great to reconcile. Finally, globalist groups were also involved, with some favoring joining another country entirely, some favoring greater foreign neutrality, but nearly all favoring greater trade and diplomatic freedoms in the city than the national law allowed.

The Boiling Summer is often defined by a quote from demonstrator Matthew Sommer, in which he describes how "the revolution was our chance for modern liberty, and we took it. We can't now settle for what we and most of the rest of the world view as a compromise." The revolts eventually concluded in September of 2021, and by October the city was officially designated a manually-independent metropolis by the People's Legislature, allowing for greater autonomy in government, economics, civil liberties, and federal representation.
