Megatridimensional Invasion of Kalsomonia

The 2021 Megatridimensional Invasion of Kalsomonia, known simply as the Megatridimensional Invasion of Kalsomonia, is an ongoing military invasion of Kalsomonia by the Republic of Megatridimensional Order and the country's armed forces. Beginning on January 3rd, the Megatridimensional Order suddenly mounted a massive surprise strike against the Kalsomonian border, beginning a formal invasion on January 4th. The Megatridimensional Order strongly denied the account. According to the National News Federation, the Order was conducting military training and maneuvers nearby when the Kalsomonia government requested assistance. Rebels from the nearby country of United States of Quentin had infiltrated the Kalsomonia government, killing some officials and threatening others should they not cooperate. The goal of these rebels was to decrease the supply of Bhwacka and cause international unrest by driving up the price. The rebels believed this would benefit the United States of Quentin, since the USM profited on bawhacka sales due to the high tariffs USM received as a result of the Treaty of Bedlam. It is unknown whether the rebels were affiliated with or part of the USM government.

Due to the surprise nature of the attacks and suspicions surrounding the actual nature of the invasion, the invasion and the Order itself were internationally condemned prior to the Order's official explanation.

An additional reason for broad condemnation of the attacks are that the Order violated the Treaty of Bedlam ending the Asperian Roofball Conflict of 2019. On January 5th, 27 of the 32 countries in the Venturian Union condemned the attacks, with notable exceptions being Paladinia, the Nista Federation, [Mortification]] and Gallanathia. Soon however the Nista Federation and Gallanathia both condemned the attacks, with the Venturian Union calling an emergency session in Altempel on January 6th to deal with the crisis. After the emergency meeting, all borders were closed to the Megatridimensional Order, with many countries placing their militaries on high alert.

As of January 17th, fighting in the country is at a standstill, with the initial wave of Megatridimensional troops being held back by the Kalsomonian military near the capital city of Cobain. Deaths so far are currently estimated in the thousands, with civilian deaths being high and Kalsomonian refugees fleeing mainly to the United States of Quentin.
